Why we chose
Tauro
Tauro sits on the south coast of Gran Canaria, between Puerto Rico and Playa del Cura — quiet, sunny, and a short drive from beaches, harbours and golf.
Sunshine almost every day
The sun shines all year. Winter days sit between 22 and 27°C in the shade; summer climbs past 30°C. It rains about five times a year — so you can plan outdoor days with confidence.
That is why we chose Tauro for Villa Hugo: warm weather without the crowds of the bigger resorts, yet everything nearby.
Sand within walking distance
Playa de Tauro is about one kilometre away — Sahara sand, a gradual entry into the sea, ideal for families. Playa de Amadores (1.6 km) is one of the island's loveliest white-sand bays, with restaurants and markets around the water.
A little further, Anfi del Mar is an artificial white-sand beach complex about eight minutes by car, with restaurants, water sports and paid parking.
Ten to fifteen minutes by car
Beaches, harbours, restaurants and golf courses we recommend are typically ten to fifteen minutes away. The area is calm — perfect for rest — yet a base for kayaking, snorkelling, cycling, surfing, paddleboarding and hiking in nearby nature reserves.
Anfi Tauro Golf is next to the residence. Puerto de Mogán's harbour town and Puerto Rico's amenities are a short drive; Las Palmas airport (LPA) is about 45 minutes.
